Job summary

Intact Specialty Solutions in Ottawa is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the Trade Credit team. You will help brokers, clients and prospects with application support and policy coordination, enabling Underwriters to deliver high-quality service.

The role requires data integrity, client follow-up, and cross-functional collaboration to streamline onboarding and policy delivery. A college diploma or degree in Business/Finance plus 3 years of admin/customer experience is preferred.

• College diploma or university degree in business or finance.
• Minimum 3 years of varied experience with external customers as an administrator, coordinator or office manager.
• Good oral and written communication skills and team spirit.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Can make decisions and work independently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision.
• bilingualism Eng/Fr is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data integrity of policy documents and assist Underwriters with data quality.
• Follow up with customers, banks and brokers for signed documents required pertaining to the policy.
• Identify and assigns incoming inquiries to appropriate individuals.
• Understand the needs and requirements of internal and external clients and interact with them as required.
• Provide research and performs various supportive tasks for Underwriters to improve efficiency of project, new signing and client onboarding activities.
• Create and maintain records to ensure that team performance metrics can be easily tracked.
• Actively identify opportunities or initiatives to improve internal business and processes.

Salary range (but not limited to):
50,900 - 62,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. We're looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing Trade Credit team in Ottawa!

In this role, will be responsible for the execution of tasks associated with the service delivery to our brokers, clients and prospects through application support and policy coordination, and assist the underwriter in the efficient delivery of quality service to the client.

• Computer literacy with Microsoft software knowledge.

• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
