The Opportunity

The Level 3 Underwriter is responsible for completing insurance underwriting processes, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position proactively manages renewals with premium increases, re-markets canceled policies, oversees the administration of farm and commercial policy applications, and regularly audits policy documentation to ensure accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Proactively shop and re-market insurance policies experiencing premium increases before renewal, ensuring competitive solutions using the Applied Rating System (ARS) and Late Renewal List.
• Process insurance documentation efficiently, including Commercial lines applications, ensuring accuracy and timely submission via appropriate portals.
• Manage and support special insurance company campaigns and portfolio transfers, including related company portal transitions; act as a point of contact for team inquiries.
• Re-shop and reissue policies canceled due to non-payment or non-renewal, offering timely alternatives to maintain client coverage.
• Provide administrative support for farm and commercial insurance policy applications, ensuring completeness and alignment with underwriting guidelines.
• Conduct audits of insurance policy applications, including portal submissions, identifying and correcting errors or omissions prior to policy binding.
• Coordinate courier needs as required.
• Triage emails from shared inboxes, including Hometown and Billing, ensuring timely responses and appropriate routing.
• Assist with complex applications, portal issues, and training for new or existing staff.
• Collaborate effectively with other internal teams to ensure seamless policy handling and an exceptional client experience.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, underwriting standards, and documentation protocols.
• Participate in continuous learning to stay current on insurance products, systems, and best practices.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
