We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team of Surety Underwriters in our downtown Vancouver office.

This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence at least twice per week.

Position: UNDERWRITER, CONTRACT SURETY - VANCOUVER

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business applications for surety according to company standards.
• Analyze, assess, and monitor the financial strength of new and existing accounts.
• Negotiate specific terms and conditions for issuing surety bonds.
• Monitor construction developments, projects, and exposures regularly.
• Develop new business through networking and marketing with clients, consultants, lawyers, etc.
• Represent Trisura at industry associations and functions.
• Find solutions to complex problems with creative underwriting approaches.
• Enhance industry knowledge through courses and training to improve underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a BCom or BA with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2-5 years of progressive experience in Construction, Surety, Accounting, Finance, or Banking (commercial lending).
