Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced Underground Truck Operators for a major underground mining operation in Northern BC. The role involves operating underground haul trucks, transporting ore and waste, and performing equipment inspections while upholding strict safety standards.

This site-based position follows a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation and starts with a 6-month temporary contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Minimum 2 years of underground mining experience.
• Experience operating underground mobile equipment, haul trucks, or other heavy equipment in a mining environment.
• Strong understanding of underground mining hazards and safe work practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of underground mining work.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground haul trucks safely and efficiently in support of production activities.
• Transport ore, waste rock, and materials throughout the underground operation.
• Complete pre-operational and post-operational equipment inspections.
• Identify and report equipment defects, maintenance requirements, and workplace hazards.
• Follow site safety procedures, regulations, and operational standards.
• Participate in workplace inspections, safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
• Maintain accurate operating records and equipment documentation.
• Support underground housekeeping activities and maintain safe working conditions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and other underground personnel.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Mine Services teams to support operational goals.

Underground Truck Operator

Our client is seeking experienced Underground Truck Operators to support the safe and efficient operation of a major underground mining operation. This role is responsible for operating underground haul trucks, transporting ore and waste, conducting equipment inspections, and supporting underground production activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.

This is a site-based position that requires working on site in Northern BC following a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule.

Starts with a 6-month temporary employee contract with possibility of extension.

Client provides camp accommodations, meals, and charter flights from major travel hubs in Western Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Sandvik underground haul trucks or similar equipment.
• Underground miner training/certification or equivalent.
• Hard rock underground mining experience.
• Mine rescue or emergency response experience.
• Fall Protection, Confined Space, or First Aid certifications.
• Experience working in remote camp-based mining operations.
