Job summary

Lake Shore Gold, located in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking an Underground Supervisor for the Timmins West Mine. The role is full-time with a 5-5-4 rotation and 12-hour shifts. Candidate must relocate to Timmins; camp-based housing is not provided.

Salary ranges from CAD 120,000 to 130,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, safety training, and coordinating crew assignments to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of related mining experience.
• Supervisory Common Core is required.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operations comply with legislative, company, and site regulations.
• Ensures compliance with H&S and Environmental.
• Ensures employees are trained before performing the work.
• Assign employees specific work assignments each shift to meet production targets daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Monitors workers during the shift and provides coaching and training as required.
• Deploys materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your area.
• Inspects all work and requests corrective actions.
• Manages employee performance and adherence to policies on-site.
• Maintains positive employee attitude and participation.
• Takes responsibility for occupational health, safety, and environmental matters.
• Handles special projects as assigned.

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

About the Opportunity

We are looking to hire an Underground Supervisor to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis.

The schedule for this position is 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hr shifts.

This position offers a salary range of $120,000-130,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

• Assign employees specific work assignments each shift to meet production targets daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensures workers are monitored during the shift and coaching and training as required.
• Responsible for the deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your own area of responsibility.
• Inspects all work and request corrective actions.
• Manages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures on-site including quality of work, discipline, absences, and vacation scheduling.
• Keeps a pulse of the workforce to maintain positive employee attitude and participation.
• Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to Lake Shore Gold Corporation.
• Special projects may be assigned from time to time.
