Rainy River Mine

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position: Underground Pneumatic Technician

Schedule: 5/2/4/3 - 9 Hour Days

Position Reports To: Underground Superintendent

Position Overview

Reporting to Underground Maintenance Supervisor, the role of the Pneumatic Technician is to provide quality maintenance, repairs, and repair parts inventory management for pneumatic jack leg and stoper drills, and underground pneumatic pumps.

Key Duties

• Function as a Pneumatic Technician to troubleshoot and repair all Underground Jackleg and Stopers underground drills, and pneumatic underground pumps according to OEM specifications, while consulting with maintenance and operations to maintain proper functioning inventory to support operations
• Maintain service records and work orders in conjunction with teamwork from the Underground Maintenance leadership team and planning department
• Participate in departmental daily safety meetings
• Provide information on repetitive breakdowns and maintenance required and implement corrective actions
• Maintain work area using proper housecleaning and work practices and servicing of tools and test benches
• Maintain repair inventory levels for proper stocking of required parts for jackleg, stoper and pneumatic pumps maintenance, and organize and handle inventory stocking parts in shop
• Assist with other shop repairs on equipment if required
• Transportation and handling of failed pneumatic devices from underground complex to shop and repaired units back to underground complex
  
  

Requirements

• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatic equipment is an asset
• Experience in HD equipment maintenance and repairs is an asset
• Able to work independently and be self motivated in a fast paced environment
• Able to lift heavy materials ( 50 LBS max )
• Vaild driver's license
