Job summary

Compass Minerals Canada Corp. in Goderich, Ontario, is seeking Journeyperson Mechanics for its Underground Salt Mine. You will maintain, repair, and install mining infrastructure and support fixed plant services on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; valid trade licenses listed below.
• Experience as a Mechanic or Millwright in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong hydraulic systems knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• CWB welding certification is a plus; Red Seal preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and install mining infrastructure and fixed plant services.
• Inspect, service, and adjust underground and surface equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Support shaft, hoist and loading pocket maintenance where applicable.
• Complete equipment installations and rebuilds in confined spaces.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Keep accurate work logs and documentation per regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Hoisting, Electrical and Operations.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout, ground control, ventilation.
