Job summary

Dumas Contracting Inc. in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic for underground mining operations. You will maintain and repair heavy mining equipment underground, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role requires a Red Seal/Journeyman license and 3+ years of heavy-duty experience, plus Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification. This position offers 12‑hour shifts, 7/7 and 14/14 rotations, with a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Red Seal/Journeyman license in a mechanic trade is required.
• 3+ years of heavy-duty mechanic experience in mining.

Wage: $66.44 - $83.50/HR

About The Role

As a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic at Dumas, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the fleet of heavy mining equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. You will work underground in a fast-paced setting, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime to support production goals while working safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair underground mining equipment, including jumbos, MacLean bolters, scoops, utility vehicles, and drills.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause analysis for failures.
• Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

Qualifications

• Valid Red Seal/Journeyman License in a Mechanic trade along with 3+ years of heavy-duty mechanic experience
• Valid Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification.
• Strong knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments.
• Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
