Job summary

Challenger Geomatics Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking an Underground Line Locator to join our field team.

The role involves performing line locates with line locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar, and working with the Project Manager to meet client objectives. Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Challenger Geomatics has openings for Line Locator based in Edmonton, Alberta with the ability and willingness to work out of town when needed.

Candidates should have a willingness to travel to where the work is (if necessary). You will have the chance to work on different types of projects and grow your career through participation in our training and development programs. Challenger has many ongoing projects in the major hubs and out of town.

General Responsibilities:

• Completes underground line locates using line locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar.
• Works closely with the Project Manager to ensure all client objectives are met.
• Provides necessary documentation to office staff including any field notes.
• Communicates effectively with team members and ensures tasks are completed on time.
• Performs all health and safety duties as identified in the company's safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

• >>3 years of underground line locating experience.
• Must be flexible and willing to work out of town.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract
• Physical fitness - party chief's work outside in tough conditions, often carrying equipment long distances.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the energy sector or construction.
• Survey skills or desire to learn surveying (an asset)
• Advanced Pilot (an asset)
• 3D Scanner experience (an asset)
• Valid Safety Certificates (i.e. H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Wildlife Awareness)
