Qualifications

• Previous survey experience, preferably in construction surveying.
• Willingness to travel and work out of town (approx. 30% of time).
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract.
• Physically capable of working outdoors in varying conditions.
• Experience with line locating and operating modern survey equipment is beneficial.
• Advanced RPAS (Drone) Pilot Certification is a plus.
• Valid safety certificates such as H2S, First Aid, and CSTS are assets.
• Safety training such as H2S, First Aid, CSTS, and Wildlife Awareness is an asset.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Field Survey Operations – Complete construction and field surveys while working closely with the Project Manager to ensure all client objectives are met.
• Data & Documentation Management – Provide necessary documentation to office staff including field notes, computations, and other survey data.
• Team Communication & Coordination – Communicate effectively with team members and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Health & Safety Compliance – Perform all health and safety duties in accordance with company safety procedures and standards.
• Survey Equipment Operation – Operate and maintain survey equipment such as GPS/GNSS rovers, total stations, and locators while ensuring company vehicles and equipment are properly used and maintained.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience – Diploma or Degree in Geomatics or a related discipline along with previous survey experience. Experience in construction surveying is considered an asset.
• Field Flexibility – Willingness to travel and work out of town as required (approximately 30% of work outside the Edmonton area).
• Licensed & Reliable – Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Physically Capable – Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and carrying equipment over long distances.
• Technical Skills – Experience with line locating, 3D scanning, and operating modern survey equipment is considered an asset.
• Drone Certification – Advanced RPAS (Drone) Pilot Certification is considered an asset.
• Safety Training – Valid safety certificates such as H2S, First Aid, CSTS, and Wildlife Awareness are considered assets.
