Job summary

Coeur Mining is seeking an Underground Heavy Duty Mechanic (Beat Mechanic) to inspect, diagnose and repair underground mining equipment at the Rainy River operation in northwestern Ontario, Canada. The role reports to the Underground Maintenance Supervisor and requires a Journeyperson Red Seal Mechanic with underground experience as an asset.

The position features a 14x14 schedule with a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and efficient maintenance to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Red Seal Mechanic required.
• Underground mining experience is an asset.
• SAP or CMMS experience is an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Caterpillar, Maclean and Sandvik drill experience are assets.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of underground heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostics tools to minimize downtime.

Rainy River

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position Reports To: Underground Maintenance Supervisor

Role Summary

The Beat Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of our underground mobile mining equipment and to support safe and reliable operations ensuring all work is conducted safely and in accordance with industry standards and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on underground heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint malfunctions and minimize downtime.
• Repairs & Overhauls: Conduct repairs and component overhauls on underground equipment, including engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and braking systems, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed. Complete detailed reports on equipment status, repairs conducted, and parts used.
• Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules by performing timely and efficient repairs.
• Use of Tools & Equipment: Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment required for the repair and maintenance of heavy underground machinery.

The anticipated salary for this position will be between $118,000 to $128,000.
