Job summary

New Gold Inc. is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Labourer at the Rainy River gold mine in Ontario. Permanent role with on-site training to develop skills in maintenance tasks and safe working practices.

Operating within the Maintenance department, you will support wash bay maintenance, equipment inspections, and basic servicing. Local residents preferred; camp not provided. Valid G2 license required; heavy equipment experience an asset. Salary between 58,000 and 61,000 CAD per year.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License – minimum G2 class.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physically capable to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Good mechanical aptitude; experience with heavy equipment is a plus.
• Experience operating a fuel truck is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wash bay in a safe, orderly fashion.
• Keep work area clean; routine inspections of equipment.
• Assist in maintenance tasks and participate in safety procedures.
• Operate fuel trucks following safety protocols.
• Yard and shop clean-up.

Rainy River

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position Reports To: Mine Maintenance Supervisor

Po sition Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hard working individual to join our team as a Mobile Maintenance Labourer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring proper protocols are followed with various tasks within the Maintenance department and ensuring a safe work environment. No prior Maintenance experience is needed, the successful applicant will recieve on the job training to aquire the necessay skills and knowledge required for the position.

Preference will be given to local residents of the Rainy River district.

*Camp is not provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining wash bay in a safe and orderly fashion
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a clean and orderly manner. Clean up wash bay daily, putting away all hoses, cords tools, supplies and clean the floor.
• Washing mining equipment and components as directed
• Performing routine and daily inspections of applicable equipment
• Assisting in normal maintenance practices and procedures
• Operate fuel trucks, adhering to all safety protocols
• Yard/shop clean-up

Qualifications

• V alid Driver’s License – must have minimum of class G2 license
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Physically fit with the ability to work in conditions that are exposed to the elements
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Experience in operating commercial size fuel truck an asset
• Knowledge and experience working on heavy equipment is considered an asset

The anticipated salary for this position will be between $58,000 to 61,000.
