Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for Diagnostic Imaging to perform ultrasound procedures and provide high-quality imaging to support diagnosis. The role covers days/evenings/nights across Osler sites with travel as needed.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited ultrasound program, registered with CMRITO, and may hold CRGS/ARDMS credentials. HOOPP pension and employee referral rewards apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology.
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with RVT/CRVS eligibility preferred.
• ARDMS certification may be considered.
• Excellent imaging quality and ability to communicate with radiologists.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment.
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging and preliminary impression, discussing findings when necessary.
• Adhere to hospital policies and protect patient confidentiality.
• May travel between and work at all Osler sites.

Accountabilities:

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Adhere to organization mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Job qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada within six months of the date of hire
• Candidates with ARDMS certification may be considered
• Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal preferred
• FMF NT certification an asset
• Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Physical ability to perform the expected job duties
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
• Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional information

Hours:Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

SALARY:
Minimum: $36.84 per hour
Maximum: $51.76 per hour
