Job summary

William Osler Health System in Brampton, Ontario is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures and provide high-quality imaging for radiologists. You will support patient care across shifts while adhering to hospital policies and maintaining confidentiality.

The role requires graduation from an accredited ultrasound program with CMRITO registration, and preferences for CRGS/ARDMS; strong communication and teamwork are essential as you may travel between Osler sites.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program and registered with CMRITO.
• Certification in abdomen and OB/GYN preferred; ARDMS considered.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work across shifts

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment.
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Adhere to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary.
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Job Description

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Adhere to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada within six months of the date of hire
• Candidates with ARDMS certification may be considered
• Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal preferred
• FMF NT certification an asset
• Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Physical ability to perform the expected job duties
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary

Minimum: $36.84 per hour

Maximum: $51.76 per hour
