Job summary

Arcanaut Studios is seeking a Lead UI & UX Designer to shape how players interact with the game universe. You will lead the vision for intricate stats, skill trees, itemization, and branching narratives while coordinating cross-functional UI artists and designers.

You will guide integration of interfaces within Unreal Engine 5, ensuring fast, fluid transitions and accessible ergonomics. A strong emphasis on collaboration, accessibility, and immersion drives this role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in UI and UX design, with leadership roles on AAA titles.
• Experience leading interdisciplinary teams including sprint planning and risk mitigation.
• Hands-on UI building in Unreal Engine 5+ and strong prototyping skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision for UI/UX design across the game, organizing deep stats, skill trees, itemization and branching narrative.
• Bridge between world-building aesthetics and ergonomic UI to ensure immersion and accessibility.
• Lead integration of interface layouts inside the game engine, optimize widget structures and screen transitions.
• Mentor and inspire a team of UI artists, designers and programmers to maintain a high-quality pipeline with clear style guides.

Qualifications and Experience

8+ years of experience in UI and UX design with at least two shipped AAA shipped titles, one in a leadership role Professional experience working on high fidelity action RPGs for current gen consoles & PC A track record of successfully leading an interdisciplinary team of internal and external developers, including sprint planning, task allocation, risk mitigation, and career development Advanced proficiency with industry prototyping tools and visual asset creation programs Hands on experience building and structuring UI within Unreal Engine 5+ Deep understanding of layout composition, visual hierarchy, typography, motion graphics and accessibility standards Basic technical literacy in programming and scripting languages A strong collaborator, champion for accessibility and immersion focused mindset

The hiring range for this position is $120,000– $175,000 in addition to a bi-yearly performance-based bonus. The base pay may vary depending on the candidate’s region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
