We are hiring an Ubuntu Core Software Engineer to innovate the Linux experience in embedded environments with the smallest, most secure, and updatable OS in the IoT market. This role suits a passionate software engineer with expertise in open source, Linux, security, and low-level OS development. Responsibilities include working on boot mechanisms, bootloaders, storage layout, device trees, kernel, and services across various CPU architectures like ARM, RISC-V, and x86.
As part of the Ubuntu Core team, you'll design and implement software for diverse hardware, contributing to device recovery mechanisms and standardization for heterogeneous device fleets. This is a remote role based in the EMEA region, with opportunities for global travel.
