Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Warehouse Worker in Vancouver, BC, to operate forklifts, load/unload containers, and ensure timely deliveries from a storage facility. The role includes assisting customers, handling documentation, and maintaining a clean, secure warehouse environment.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Training is provided for forklift operation and continuous education through U-Haul University is encouraged.

• Adhere to all local (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (training provided).
• Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Provide customer assistance, including the sale of support items and use of online dispatch and rental systems.
• Perform customer-ready inspections of U‑Box containers prior to dispatch and upon return.
• Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pickup of goods.
• Ensure that the warehouse storage facility is clean, dry and secure.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

Work Environment:

Work Environment: The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
