Job summary

U-Haul is looking for a U-Box Customer Care Driver in Vancouver. As a driver, you will operate flatbed trucks and forklifts, provide friendly customer service, and ensure timely delivery of storage containers.

This role includes extensive on-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement. Applicants must have a clean driving record, a Class 1 license with Air Brake Endorsement, and the ability to handle physical demands including moving heavy items.

Qualifications

• Clean motor vehicle driving record.
• Canada- Class 1 with Air Brake Endorsement, a clean driving record.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck.
• Operate an 8000lb pound propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift.
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations.

U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck
• Operate an 8000lb pound propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g. customers’ homes and local businesses

Minimum Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle driving record
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Canada- Class 1 with Air Brake Endorsement, a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background investigation
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
