Job summary

U-Haul in Campbell River, BC is seeking a U-Box Customer Care Driver to manage containers and deliver friendly, courteous service to customers on the road.

You will operate a flatbed truck and forklift, load/unload containers, and ensure safe deliveries while meeting safety standards; minimum licensing and background checks required; opportunities for growth in a caring company culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Canada- Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement, clean driving record, pass background check.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck.
• Operate an 8000lb propane forklift or truck-mounted forklift.
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery.
• Transport containers to and from customers' homes and local businesses.

U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck
• Operate an 8000lb pound propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations, e.g. customers’ homes and local businesses

Minimum Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle driving record
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Canada- Class 1 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement, a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background investigation
• Must be 18 or older

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
