Job summary

Startec Compression & Process is seeking a Tube Bender to join our Shepard Shop in Calgary, AB. The role focuses on bending, installing, and testing tubing, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Shift is 5:50am–4:20pm, four days a week, with overtime as required. Ideal candidates will have fabrication shop experience, at least 2 years in instrument construction/manufacturing, and solid communication skills suitable for a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to bend and support tubing.
• Fabrication shop experience an asset.
• 2 years of industrial instrument construction/manufacturing experience.
• Well organized with excellent communication and teamwork.
• Applicable tooling required.
• Must pass a functional alcohol and drug test before onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Tubing installation and fabrication, including raceway setup and instrument mounting.
• Design and skid layout using P&ID's and GA's; coordinate with other trades.
• Pneumatic testing of tubing to ensure workmanship and quality.
• Maintain detailed records of installation, testing and maintenance per regs.
• Collaborate with internal customers, vendors, inspectors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to toolbox meetings and risk assessments.
• Engage in continuous improvement and ongoing instrumentation training.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Tube Bender to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Tubing Bender will be able to install, support, and test tubing. This role involves hands-on learning and active participation in a variety of projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Shift Details: 5:50am - 4:20pm (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to bend and support tubing
• Fabrication Shop experience and asset
• 2 years of industrial instrument construction/manufacturing experience.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):

INSTRUMENTATION & ASSEMBLY (Weighting 40%)

Tubing Installation

• Fabrication and installation of tubing
• Fabricate and install tubing raceway
• Mount and Install instruments

Design

• Skid layout using P&ID's, GA's
• Work closely with other trades to optimize the design of units

TESTING & CALIBRATION (Weighting 30%)

• Pneumatic testing of tubing is required to ensure workmanship and quality.
• Keep detailed records of all installation, testing, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

COLLABORATION (Weighting 30%)

Professional Conduct

• Professional interaction with internal customers, vendors, customer representatives, and inspectors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations
• Participate in Toolbox meetings, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation measures
