Job summary

Law Society of Alberta is seeking a Supervisor, Trust Safety to lead compliance oversight, risk assessment, and analytics for regulatory programs protecting the public interest. The role partners with internal regulators, vendors, and law firms to ensure high standards of trust accounting and reporting, supervising staff and driving program improvements.

The position requires leadership experience, strong communication, and expertise in regulatory compliance within the legal sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• CPA/CIA/CFE/CAMS or equivalent certification; certification in progress acceptable.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in compliance, regulatory oversight, auditing, risk management, investigations, or related environments.
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience or proven ability to lead complex audit engagements.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate findings into regulatory conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Support administration of Trust Safety compliance programs and risk oversight.
• Review financial reporting and monitoring information to identify risks and trends.
• Lead analytics and automation initiatives to improve regulatory effectiveness.
• Oversee relationships with external service providers and consultants.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment and staff development.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements and monitor program metrics.
• Build relationships with lawyers, law firms, regulators, and external partners.
• Prepare clear reports and adapt to evolving Trust Safety program priorities.
