Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an assembler for a contract-to-hire role in London, Ontario. The job involves outdoor work in all weather, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive tasks such as hammering and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Blueprint reading is a plus, with a small crew and typical daytime shifts from Monday to Friday. Responsibilities include assembling precut wood parts for trusses, floors, or walls, verifying part sizes, and organizing materials for assembly.

Qualifications

  • Experience with hand tools, tape measures and hammers.
  • Ability to read blueprints is an asset.
  • Two professional references are required.
  • Comfort working outdoors in all types of weather.

Responsibilities

  • Gather precut wood parts to build trusses, floors, or wall sections during construction projects.
  • Verify the size of each precut part and position specific wood pieces by hand.
  • Learn and assist in the effective and efficient assembly of trusses.
  • Build trusses according to order specifications and truss descriptions.
  • Gather materials and bring them to designated workstations for assembly.
  • Lift and place all lumber in the correct jig and tack all plates in place with a hammer.
  • Cut banding off bundles of lumber and organize for assembly.
