Responsibilities

  1. Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
  2. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units.
  3. Discuss work with supervisor.
  4. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  5. Review work orders.
  6. Road test motor vehicles.
  7. Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive and truck-trailer systems.
  8. Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  9. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
  10. Estimate parts and labor costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  11. Perform scheduled maintenance services.
  12. Test and adjust units to specifications.
  13. Advise customers on work performed and future repair needs.
  14. Complete reports recording problems and work performed.

  • Automotive Service Technician (Transmission) Trade Certification
  • Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification
  • Motor Vehicle Repairer (Service Station Mechanic) Trade Certification
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
