Job summary

American Iron & Metal in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, QC is seeking a Truck Mechanic for an evening shift (Mon-Thu 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM). You will maintain and repair heavy trucks and trailers on a fast-paced site, focusing on safety and reliability.

The role requires a DEP in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent, a valid PEP card, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency with hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems, plus diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Training: DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent training.
• Requirement: PEP card.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficient in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Computer Skills: Ability to use computerized diagnostic tools.
• Driver’s License: Valid license required.
• Safety: Knowledge of OHS standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective inspections according to company standards.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Truck Mechanic to join our team in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. This is an eveningshift position, Monday to Thursday, from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The truck mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of mobile equipment such as trucks and trailers, including their upkeep, repair, and refurbishment. Whatyou’reresponsible for:

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective inspections according to company standards.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Conduct functional tests to ensure proper operation of the equipment.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations
