Job summary

Dooley’s Trucking in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a professional truck driver for local routes. You will load and unload goods, operate straight or articulated trucks, and ensure the vehicle and cargo are secure and well-documented.

You will perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections, relay information to dispatch, and maintain accurate records of fuel, distance and hours of service while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience an asset.
• No degree, certificate or diploma required.
• Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Professionalism in customer service.

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
