Job summary

ABC Recycling Ltd. in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver to operate our fleet, hauling scrap metal to and from multiple locations. A clean driving record and experience with roll-off trucks, hi-abs cranes, and body jobs are preferred.

Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 license with air brakes; 3–4 years of driving experience is expected. The role emphasizes safety, accurate logs, and following dispatch instructions while contributing to our environmental mission as Western Canada's

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class 1 license with air brakes.
• 3–4 years’ experience required.
• Experience with roll-offs, body jobs and dump trucks preferred.
• Experience with self-loading cranes/Hiab is an asset.
• Ability to operate thumb & bucket to occasionally self load off site is a definite asset.
• Prior experience in scrap metal recycling or demolition would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre/post-trip inspections of the vehicle assigned to drive.
• Communicates with customers in a professional manner.
• Carries out general safety practices of a commercial driver.
• Follows guidelines for safe load securement.
• Carries out instructions from Dispatch in a timely and professional manner.

Position Overview

ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver to operate our trucks hauling scrap metal to and from different locations to our Kelowna, BC location. Occasionally, you may need to haul material to and from other ABC locations and partner companies.

The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record along with experience operating roll-off trucks, self-loading cranes such as hi-abs, and body jobs. The ability to complete daily logs and reports and carry out the instructions is also essential.
