Location: Woodbridge, ON L4L 1N9
Workplace Information: On site
Salary: $34.10 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time
Shifts: Day, Morning, Overtime, Weekend
Starts: As soon as possible

Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience:
1 to less than 7 months

Work Environment:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

Tasks:

  1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  2. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
  3. Load and unload goods.
  4. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  5. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  6. Pay and receive payments for goods.
  7. Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
  8. Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  9. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
  10. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
  11. Transport and handle dangerous goods.
