Job description

Minimum Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Tasks

1. Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
2. Maintain professionalism in customer service
3. Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations
4. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
5. Load and unload goods
6. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
7. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
8. Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
9. Pay and receive payments for goods
10. Perform brake adjustments
11. Perform emergency roadside repairs
12. Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
13. Perform preventive maintenance
14. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
15. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
16. Tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo
17. Transport and handle dangerous goods
