Job Title: Truck & Coach Mechanic

Pay Range

This range is provided by Modern Disposal Services, Inc. Your actual pay will depend on your skills and experience. Please consult with your recruiter for more details.

Base pay range: CA$46.00/hr - CA$50.00/hr

Additional Compensation: Sign-on bonus of $5000.00 CAD and shift differential available.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs repairs and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. Basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread checks may also be performed.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of chassis components.
• Service of refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and air/hydraulic brakes.
• Engine repairs and maintenance.
• Work on suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform air brake repairs and maintenance.
• Provide road service to ensure equipment is operational and safe.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Complete required training programs.
• Maintain a clean and professional work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and Class 7-8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.

• Valid 310T License.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or in a team.
• Efficient and productive work habits.
