Job summary

NCCHD is hiring a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic in Saskatoon, SK. The role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment, testing work, and minor fabrication, with a focus on safety and quality.

You should be able to handle multiple tasks in a busy shop and in the field, using your own tools and a Class 5 license. We require Red Seal certification or Journeyman status, welding willingness, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification as Heavy-Duty Equipment or truck and transport Technician.
• 4th year apprentice or Journeyperson status.
• Own tools and a Class 5 driver’s license.
• Willingness to weld or learn new skills.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs and testing on customers' equipment.
• Ability to handle multiple jobs and manage priorities.
• Complete minor fabrication work as needed.

We are locally owned Heavy Duty Repair Shop specializing in the areas of Truck and Transport heavy duty repair and lift equipment. Saskatoons leading provider of Fassi knuckle booms. We are looking for outstanding individuals like you to add to our growing force. Our shop is a modern 15000 sq/ft facility, we work on a full digital platform with two fulltime parts personal to assist and service writer.

About the Opportunity

NCCHD is currently seeking a 4th year or Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or truck and transport Technician for our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan location.

This position is part of our busy Service and Installation Shop and responsible for:

• Performing maintenance, repairs and testing on our customers various types of equipment
• Able to handle multiple jobs
• Completing some minor fabrication work
• Performing other duties as required
• Red Seal Certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment or truck and transport Technician / Mechanic
• Some experience with welding or willingness to assist or learn
• Hydraulic and electrical experience and knowledge
• Solid mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems and read schematics
• The ability to maneuver in and around heavy equipment
• Excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team
• The ability to work independently
• Your own tools (we also have shop tools)
• A Class 5 drivers license
• Our operating hours are 8:00am-4:30pm. Service truck work and field work required
