Qualifications
- Experience – 2-5 years of progressive experience as a Truck and Trailer Service Technician is preferred.
- Certifications – Red Seal Truck and Trailer Mechanic or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Mechanic is considered an asset.
- Driver’s License – A valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract are required; an air brake endorsement is a plus.
- Training – Any advanced diagnostic training is considered an asset, along with familiarity with mechanical reliability principles and programs.
- Technical Skills – Proficient with machine software packages and technologically inclined (computer, smartphones, Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Safety Mindset – Strong commitment to safety, with the ability to perform all duties with a high degree of safety consciousness.
- Interpersonal Skills – Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and independently when required.
- Flexibility – Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance – Ensure all trucks and trailers are regularly serviced and maintained to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and faults – Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime.
- Order appropriate parts – Manage parts inventory and order necessary components for repairs.
- Complete repairs – Execute repairs on trucks and trailers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Clean and maintain equipment and tools – Keep work areas organized and equipment in good condition.
- Safe operation and upkeep of company mobile service units – Operate service vehicles safely while performing maintenance tasks on-site.
- Engage in various garage-related activities – Assist with other tasks as required to support the overall operations.
