Qualifications

  • 3-5 years as an Electronics/Electrical or Mechanical Technologist, or 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Knowledge of production methods, workflow, safety, quality control.
  • Basic electronic, mechanical, and mechatronics knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to manufacturing team in troubleshooting and repairing issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose repairs for production issues.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for troubleshooting equipment.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $71,000.00

Summary

To analyze product failures that have been placed into MRB, diagnose the issue, document and propose the repair. To provide a first point of contact to the production team for technical support and escalate obstacles or challenges as required.

Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting
  • Provide daily support to manufacturing team in troubleshooting, repairing, and solving issues with products.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Quality teams to maintain and report all quality concerns, defects, or process breakdowns, and contribute to solutions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and related departments to improve procedures, processes, and safety by identifying and utilizing lean methods to make manufacturing more efficient (e.g., reducing waste, 1-piece flow, 5S, lean tools).
  • Perform Root Cause analysis & propose repairs for production issues.
  • Organize & maintain the troubleshooting area at the 1034 Location.
  • Perform other duties within skill level as required.
Customer Returns
  • Troubleshoot customer returns.
  • Create Failure analyses.
  • Troubleshoot PCBA’s from warranty returns.
  • Perform Root Cause analysis.
Safety
  • Participate as a major contributor in fostering a safety-conscious culture within SKF.
  • Educate and mentor new employees on safe work practices and observations.
Training
  • Mentor and train employees on processes, procedures, production tools, etc.
Technical Support
  • Provide technical production support to Engineering.
  • Support new employees with technical training.
  • Contribute to the improvement of work instructions to enhance safety.
Maintenance
  • Manage Preventive and Corrective Maintenance for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ensure troubleshooting tools & equipment are in good working order per manufacturer’s recommendations and SKF’s requirements.
SKF CofC, EHS & QMS
  • Perform all activities in compliance with SKF Code of Conduct, EHS policy, and Quality Management System.
Requirements

Skills: Strong planning skills, detail-oriented, excellent communication (oral and written), leadership, organizational skills, assertiveness, problem-solving, goal-driven, dynamic thinker.

Education: Post-secondary diploma/degree in Electronics or Mechanical discipline.

Experience: 3-5 years as an Electronics/Electrical or Mechanical Technologist, or 5+ years in a technical leadership role.

Knowledge: Production methods, workflow, safety, quality control, costs, ISO 9001:2015, proficiency in Microsoft Office, manufacturing tools & principles (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, JIT, Takt time), and basic electronic, mechanical, and mechatronics knowledge.
