Job Description

Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Oshawa Elevation Centre three times per week, at minimum.

As a Treasury Associate you will support and consult with multiple facets of the General Motors global portfolio by solving challenging and critical strategic issues facing the company. Associates may work on diverse projects such as managing GM’s cash investment portfolio, FX risk management, managing bank relations, etc.

T he role requires strong corporate finance knowledge, analytical skills and the ability to optimize a range of inputs and scenarios to support effective decision-making. Additionally, the candidate must have the capacity to build positive relationships with a broad range of functions throughout the organization.

Core Competencies and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within high-performing, cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrate leadership by embodying GM behaviors, prioritizing personal development, and fostering a positive Workplace of Choice culture.

  • Anticipate and meet partner needs proactively, contributing to workload prioritization and decision-making processes.

  • Develop short-term and long-term cash flow and legal entity income forecasts.

  • Evaluate liquidity needs of legal entity, arrange funding and cash repatriation.

  • Review and analyze cash flow forecasts on regular basis, identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to improve operational and financial health of the entity.

  • Support the continuous improvement of the design, implementation and execution of processes and controls to ensure a high-level of accuracy and efficiency.

  • Provide guidance and coordination for bank and other financial account opening, closing.

  • Analyze and provide recommendations for counterparty exposure limits.

  • Support audit and KYC requests related to entities. Facilitate assurance audits for government incentive claims.

Additional Job Description

Requirements

  • 5+ years of previous Financial experience

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with GM systems an asset (WSS, SAP, Hyperion)
