Associate Director, Global Capital Markets Treasury

Under the direction of the Director, Global Capital Markets (GCM) Treasury, this role assists in ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.

The individual will develop a strong understanding of GCM business line strategies (Capital Markets and Business Banking) and assist the Director, GBM Treasury, in liquidity and funding risk mitigation and optimization.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the Director, GCM Treasury, in managing capital, liquidity, and funding requirements to optimize balance sheet and funding utilization.
  • Assist in gathering information from GT verticals to assess impacts on stress testing, LCR, NSFR, etc., based on forecasted business activity and strategic plans.
  • Help develop tools and reports to monitor resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the liability side of the GBM balance sheet.
  • Support the creation of analysis and presentations for senior management regarding capital, liquidity, and metrics.
  • Review regulatory changes affecting funding and liaise with businesses on their application.
  • Assist with the Bank’s Resolution Plan and other matters as needed.
  • Participate in quarterly peer reviews of Funding and Liquidity metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, or economics.
  • Master’s degree or recognized professional designation (e.g., CFA, Accounting) is an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in treasury, liquidity risk management, or treasury strategy at a bulge bracket bank.
  • Deep knowledge of liquidity and funding risks, derivatives, commitments, and related functions.
  • Proficiency with banking regulations (LCR, NSFR, NCCF) and standards (Basel, OSFI).
  • Ability to understand regional regulatory environments and their impact on activities.
  • Experience reviewing balance sheets and forecasting funding usage.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
