Job summary

Lionsgate Canada is seeking a Treasury Analyst to support day-to-day cash flow activity across Canadian business units. Reporting to the Manager, Treasury, the role focuses on monitoring the cash position, updating forecasts, and handling banking operations.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in cash management, strong Excel modeling, and a solid understanding of accounting controls. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic entertainment company.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years’ cash management and forecasting experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong MS Excel and modeling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a time-sensitive setting.
  • Knowledge of accounting rules and internal controls is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the daily cash position report.
  • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecast and reconcile cash balances weekly.
  • Prepare wire setups to administer payments.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Open and close bank accounts.
  • Support day-to-day banking operations and respond to banking inquiries.
  • Develop relationships with other finance teams to forecast collections and payables.
  • Assist in forecast reporting and data analysis of large datasets.

Lionsgate Canada’s finance department is actively seeking a Treasury Analyst to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Analyst, this position will play a key role in assisting in the day-to-day cash flow activity of Canadian business. Some of the key responsibilities include monitoring the daily cash position, assisting in preparation and updating the extended cash forecast, responding to ad hoc data requests, sourcing, collating and analyzing large data samples and assisting with bank related accounting entries.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the daily cash position report.
  • Prepare and analyze cash flow forecast and reconcile cash balances on weekly basis.
  • Prepare wire set ups to administer payments.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Open and close bank accounts.
  • Support day-to-day banking operations including handling banking inquiries from the business units.
  • Develop relationships with variance finance teams to forecast collections, payables and other financial commitments in the cash flow model.
  • Assist in preparation of forecast reports.
  • Tracking collections from multiple parties and facilitating payments to third parties.
  • Continuously strive to make improvements in existing processes and models.
  • Review trends and analyze large sources of data.
  • Oversee or participate in ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 1-3 years’ cash management and forecasting experience in a fast paced, deadline-oriented business environment.
  • Strong MS Excel and modeling skills. The ability to use formulas, macros, pivot tables and other advanced Excel features.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules and practices and internal controls is required.
  • Working towards a professional accounting designation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and attention to detail in all areas of work are crucial.
  • Fast learner and self-starter.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team and independently.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work overtime when required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think outside the box.
