Job summary

Core-Mark is seeking a Merchandiser to service customer retail locations in the interior of BC, including Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon, Merritt, Penticton, and South Okanagan. You will maintain SmartStock programs, execute plan-o-grams, rotate products, and ensure proper merchandising to optimize shelf presence.

Role requires full-time work with 100% travel. Benefits include health and wellness, RRSP, stock purchase plan, paid time off, and expense coverage such as car allowance and cell phone.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle; snow tires may be required; valid insurance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read/store plan-o-grams and set instructions.
  • Learn to operate handheld inventory devices, calculators, and computers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a detailed and specific call routine as directed by the Sales Account Manager.
  • Communicate weekly with Sales Account Manager for updated guidance on program execution.
  • Maintain and execute the SmartStock program (racks/plan-o-gram/ordering, merchandising activities).
  • Identify and reduce out-of-stocks on shelves.
  • Ensure products are fresh and within date code parameters.
  • Attend to customer needs and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure plan-o-gram, marketing best practices, and compliance in stores.
  • Identify display opportunities and maximize display positioning.
  • Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, and identified.
  • Find solutions to possible customer challenges with assistance.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Development (GED) certificate.
  • Required to drive to customer locations using personal transportation (gas card will be provided).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle (snow tires may be required), and proper valid insurance.
  • Must have valid insurance for work that meets minimum requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use and understand store plan-o-gram and set instructions.
  • Ability to learn how to operate a hand-held inventory control device, calculators, and computer.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Outlook
