Job summary

Core-Mark seeks a Merchandiser to travel to customer locations in your territory, place merchandise per plan-o-gram, and optimize store displays. You assess needs, propose substitutions to boost sales, and report issues to management.

You’ll support weekly guidance from the Sales Account Manager, execute SmartStock activities, and maintain stock levels while ensuring freshness and compliance across stores.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Reliable vehicle and proper insurance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use store plan-o-gram and set instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a detailed and specific call routine as directed by the Sales Account Manager.
  • Communicating weekly with Sales Account Manager to gain updated guidance on program execution.
  • Maintenance & execution of the SmartStock program (racks/plan-o-gram/ordering, merchandising activities).
  • Identifying and reducing out-of-stocks on shelves.
  • Ensuring products are fresh and within date code parameters.
  • Attending to customer needs and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring plan-o-gram, marketing best practices, and compliance in stores.
  • Identifying display opportunities and maximizing display positioning.
  • Ensuring that products are properly displayed, priced, and identified.
  • Finding solutions to possible customer challenges with assistance.
  • Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.

  • Schedule is Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM (May vary based on business needs)
  • 50%-80% driving travel is required (Per Diem and company paid hotels when traveling).
  • Daily travel to our locations in your territory

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Merchandiser, you'll drive to customer locations using your personal vehicle, to meet with the customer, place merchandise in the display areas following set plan-o-grams, ensuring that every square foot of the store is properly set according to plan. You must be able to assess critical needs and notify management immediately of any issues. You'll also assess customer sales and identify which items are not selling or are discontinued for each particular customer, making recommendations for replacement items that will increase sales and profits for the customer.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational
  • Development (GED) certificate.
  • Required to drive to customer locations using personal transportation (gas card will be provided).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle (snow tires may be required), and proper valid insurance.
  • Must have valid insurance for work that meets minimum requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to use and understand store plan-o-gram and set instructions.
  • Ability to learn how to operate a hand-held inventory control device, calculators, and computer.

Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Outlook
