Are you an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) looking for an exciting and meaningful work experience in Manitoba?
Do you have a passion to make a difference in the lives of those you care for? Have you thought about travelling for work to expand your personal and professional growth in health care? We provide a unique way to experience an expanded clinical scope of practice while enjoying an adventure at the same time! Average assignment durations vary from 2 to 6 weeks.
The work you will do:
Paramedics will primarily work in clinic-based environments, performing an expanded role in these communities by providing primary and emergency care to all residents—from newborns to elders—through a nursing station or health center in a clinic atmosphere.
Responsibilities include health promotion, assessments, support, and implementing care using best practice clinical guidelines; providing primary care and emergency care.
Work as part of a care team with nurses in a clinic setting, handling urgent and non-urgent walk-ins, similar to a walk-in clinic, as well as primary care follow-ups, akin to visiting your doctor for prescriptions, tests, or follow-up on conditions. They also serve as emergency response in communities without a dedicated ER.
Provide acute and primary care, requiring quick thinking and the ability to prioritize patient needs. Since there are no physicians on site, you must be able to "hit the ground running".
