Job description

Are you seeking an exciting Advanced Care Paramedic experience in Canada's remote northern communities? Bayshore HealthCare’s Northern Staffing program has provided high-quality community health care solutions to Canada's North since 1997. Our Healthcare Professionals work closely with diverse Indigenous communities (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis), providing care to community members. We hire passionate team members from all over Canada who travel on assignments to remote northern communities of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. We offer a unique opportunity to expand your clinical scope of practice while experiencing adventure. Average assignment durations vary from 2 to 6 weeks.

Do you have a passion to make a difference in the lives of those you care for? Interested in traveling for work to enhance your personal and professional growth in healthcare? We provide a unique experience to expand your clinical skills while enjoying an adventure! Assignments typically last from 2 to 3 weeks.

The work you will do:
  • Work primarily in clinic-based environments, providing primary and emergency care to residents of all ages—newborns to elders—at nursing stations or health centers in community clinics.
  • Perform health promotion, assessments, and support, implementing care following Best Practice Clinical Guidelines; provide primary and emergency care.
  • Collaborate with nurses in clinics handling urgent and non-urgent walk-ins, similar to walk-in clinics, as well as primary care follow-ups, akin to visiting your doctor for prescriptions, tests, or condition management. Communities may also rely on paramedics as their emergency response in the absence of a formal ER.
  • Deliver acute and primary care with the ability to think quickly, react promptly, and prioritize patient needs, often without physicians on site. Must be ready to 'hit the ground running.'
Why Bayshore?
  • Enjoy fully paid and planned travel assignments while doing what you love.
  • Highly competitive compensation, incentives, and bonuses.
  • Comprehensive orientation and training to prepare you.
  • Opportunities for continual learning and professional development.
  • Diverse assignments with flexible schedules to balance work and life.
  • 24/7 support from a dedicated team from your first day.
Who You Are:
  • A graduate from an accredited Paramedic Program, practicing in good standing.
  • Willing to obtain necessary licenses through provincial or territorial regulating bodies.
  • Meet the required work experience criteria.
  • Additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during the interview process.

We appreciate all applicants. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly.
