Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare invites experienced Nurse Practitioners to join its Northern Staffing Program, delivering primary and emergency care in remote Canadian communities. Work involves an expanded nursing scope with support from a collaborative team and specialized training.

You will provide comprehensive services, including IPAC, immunizations, and travel care, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Orientation and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing in good standing with a nursing license.
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner in good standing; current licensure in a province/territory.
• 1,125–3,000 NP hours in Past 3 years in Primary Care or 3,000 NP hours in remote/isolated communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary and emergency care in clinics and nursing stations across remote northern communities.
• Use expanded nursing scope with observation, assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching.
• Lead health promotion initiatives, conduct assessments, and plan care using Best Practice Guidelines.
• Deliver comprehensive services including IPAC, immunizations, travel nursing, and care plan development.
• Ensure client safety and comfort within professional scope.

Pay: $76.50–$93/hour + $22/hour non-taxed Northern Allowance

The work you will do:

• Work collaboratively in a team-based environment, practicing an expanded scope of nursing to deliver primary and emergency care for all residents—from newborns to elders—through nursing stations and health centers in a clinic setting
• Apply advanced skills in observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching, guided by individualized care plans
• Lead health promotion initiatives, conduct assessments, and plan and implement care using Best Practice Clinical Guidelines
• Provide comprehensive services including primary care, emergency care, travel nursing, care plan development, infection prevention and control (IPAC), communicable disease management, and immunizations
• Ensure the comfort and safety of clients at all times, within the scope of practice

Who You Are:

• You are a graduate from an accredited School of Nursingand havea nursing license through the governing body in good standing
• You are a licensed Nurse registered in good standing
• You have or are willing to obtain a nursing license through the regulating body in the provinces or territories you wish to work
• You meet the required work experience
• Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements and reimbursements will be discussed during interview

OR 3,000 hours within the past 3 years providing care in remote, isolated, or semi-isolated communities as a Nurse Practitioner.
