YWCA Toronto is seeking a Shelter Support Worker - Housing Counsellor to provide comprehensive support to women living in the shelter. Responsibilities include crisis counseling, case management, advocacy, and developing housing-related workshops within a feminist framework.

The role requires trauma-informed practice and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. The position supports women in securing housing, addressing trauma, and connecting clients to community resources.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• 1–3 years’ experience in client-centered counseling to at-risk or homeless women, focusing on housing, support and motivation.
• Knowledge of housing resources, trauma-informed practice and anti-oppression approaches.

Aufgaben

• Provide crisis intervention and counselling for residents in shelter.
• Deliver case management and goal-oriented support to residents.
• Advise and accompany women to appointments, advocating as needed.
• Develop, implement and evaluate housing workshops and resources.
