The Mustard Seed Society is seeking a Clinical Counsellor to support residents at housing sites and other clients facing mental health and substance use challenges. You will provide comprehensive clinical assessments, individual and group counselling, and evidence-informed interventions while collaborating with internal departments and community partners.

Reporting to the Health and Wellness Manager, the role emphasizes recovery, stability, and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or social work and eligible registration with CAP or ACSW.
• Knowledge of mental illness, substance use treatments, and trauma-informed approaches.
• 1–2 years’ field experience with vulnerable populations.
• Familiarity with applicable legislation and policies.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
• Proficient with EMR systems; tech-savvy mindset.

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive case management and clinical counselling services from intake to evaluation.
• Maintain confidential client documentation including assessments and progress notes.
• Coordinate consultations with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
• Deliver trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and develop personalised treatment plans.
• Collaborate with Health & Wellness and Housing teams to support client goals.
• Mentor practicum students and participate in team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and safety requirements.
• Adhere to reporting and documentation procedures for accountability and accreditation.
• Travel to various sites and external agencies as needed.
