Job summary

Sojourn House in Toronto provides Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing for newly arrived refugees. We are seeking a Child and Family Social Worker to deliver settlement programs to refugee families within our shelter and during their transition into the community.

The role involves trauma-informed counselling, intake and case management, and connecting families with schools and community supports, all within an integrated anti-racism, access and equity framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required and active membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
• Experience with case management, crisis intervention and counselling in child and family services.
• Knowledge of refugee settlements, trauma, and related supports.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver trauma-informed counselling and group programs for refugee children and families.
• Complete intake, assessments, and case plans with coordinated management.
• Connect families with schools, childcare, settlement services, and community resources.
