Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer ready to take on a Project Manager role on-site in Ottawa, with relocation support available. You will contribute to a broad range of transportation planning projects across Canada, collaborating with engineers, planners, designers and landscape architects to deliver data-driven solutions.

The role emphasizes leadership development, client interaction, and opportunity to grow within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Transportation Engineering and a P.Eng license.
  • 8+ years of experience in transportation engineering and planning, including transportation impact assessments, active transportation infrastructure design, and project management.
  • Proficiency in transportation software and methods (e.g., Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, VISSIM, VISTRO, Aimsun).
  • Experience in traffic operations and site analysis, with the ability to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business development experience, including the ability to prepare compelling proposals and estimate, track, and manage project budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting complex technical concepts
  • A collaborative mindset and leadership skills to manage projects and client relationships effectively.

We are seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer ready to assume a Project Manager role and meaningfully contribute to a team working on a broad variety of transportation planning and engineering projects across Canada.

This position is on-site in Ottawa and is not remote. We welcome applications from candidates across Canada and the United States and offer relocation assistance.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $104,100 – $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
