Job summary

Greif, Inc. in Mississauga is hiring for a Transportation Operator to move trailers in the yard, operate forklifts, and manage shipping/receiving tasks. The role requires a few years of related experience and may prefer AZ or DZ licensing.

You will collaborate with drivers and customers to ensure accurate, timely deliveries and maintain a safe work environment. Compensation includes a hourly wage with potential short-term incentive and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in transportation, shipping, or warehouse roles.
• AZ or DZ license preferred but not required.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues at delivery points.
• Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate shunt truck to move trailers within the yard.
• Safely operate forklift and load/unload trucks.
• Receive and track shipments; prepare orders and process requests.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety regulations.
• Serve as back-up to winders and assist with winding as needed.

Job Requisition #: 035421 Transportation Operator (Open) Job Description: Key Responsibilities

SHUNT DRIVER DUTIES:

• Operate shunt truck to move trailers within the yard
• Communicate with shipping personnel to ensure efficient movement of trailers
• Report any issues or damages to trailers

FORKLIFT OPERATOR DUTIES:

• Efficient and safe operation of forklift truck
• Inspect, load and unload trucks
• Move products and materials in the warehouse
• Act as back-up to winding lift truck operator for quick set-up and operation of winders

SHIPPING/RECEIVING DUTIES:

• Receive and track shipments
• Load and unload shipments in delivery trucks
• Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials, packing boxes and placing orders in delivery area

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and contribute a safe and clean work environment
• Follow safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Possesses at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Preferably AZ or DZ license, but not required
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers and colleagues at delivery points
• Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Range: The pay for this position is $26.39 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
