Job summary

R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited and Neegan Burnside Ltd. are expanding with a Thunder Bay office and seeking a Manager of Transportation Engineering to lead a team delivering sustainable transportation projects across the North and West Region.

You will mentor engineers, oversee multi-phase design from planning through construction, and grow Burnside’s transportation services in the region while maintaining strong client partnerships and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with PEO.
• 10+ years of experience in municipal transportation engineering.
• Proven experience leading design projects from concept through construction.
• Knowledge of municipal design criteria, TAC, OPS and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technologists and EITs to deliver constructible designs meeting client expectations.
• Manage all project phases from proposal to construction administration; ensure quality and client satisfaction.
• Oversee preliminary, functional and detailed design for public infrastructure.
• Drive budgets, timelines and profitability while maintaining high standards.
• Develop and nurture client partnerships with municipal and regional agencies.
