Associated Engineering in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to oversee highway and road projects, with responsibilities spanning design, tender documentation, construction supervision, and QA/QC. The role emphasizes leadership, client interaction, and adherence to provincial standards, offering growth within a collaborative, opportunity-rich environment.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, P.E.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with transportation electives or project experience.
• Minimum 4 years of transportation experience including Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada.

Responsibilities

• Develop career path focused on technical leadership, project management or client management.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare project designs and tender documents for road rehabilitation projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.
• Supervise construction and administer contracts.
• QA/QC of reports, quantity estimates and drawings; ensure standards compliance.
• Collaborate on design and ensure alignment with client and company procedures.

What you’ll be doing:

• You will have the opportunity to develop a career path focused on technical leadership, project management, client management, or a combination based on your career aspirations and qualifications.
• Conducting Site investigations, preparing project designs, and preparation of tender documents for road rehabilitation projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.
• Experience with Construction supervision and contract administration.
• QA/QC of Reports, Quantity Estimates, and Construction drawings.
• Design collaboration and ensuring implementation and compliance of company and client standards and procedures within the scope of assigned projects.
• Assisting other Technologists, Designers, and Engineers.

• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution, with key transportation electives or transportation project experience.
• Minimum 4 years of transportation experience including experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to travel within Canada.
