Aliments Krispy Kernels in Quebec is seeking an experienced truck driver to operate straight or tractor-trailer trucks, plan routes, and ensure cargo safety on local and long-haul runs.

This on-site position requires 2–3 years of experience, a valid Class 1/A license, and a commitment to safety, with opportunities to advance and comprehensive benefits including health and parking.

Qualifications

• No degree required; two to three years of experience typical.
• Valid driver's license (Class 1/A or equivalent) and provincial permits.
• Ability to operate straight trucks and tractor-trailers.

Responsabilités

• Plan or adjust routes to minimize fuel use and emissions.
• Load and unload goods and ensure proper cargo handling.
• Operate straight or tractor-trailer trucks for transport.
• Inspect vehicle condition, tires, lights, brakes and cold storage.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and report issues.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch; log hours and distance.
• Tarps and secures cargo; ensures safety of goods in transit.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Professionalism in customer service
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
