Salary: $24.50 hourly / 40 to 50 hours per week

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Work Setting:
Various locations. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.

Responsibilities

1. Address customers’ complaints or concerns
2. Professionalism in customer service
3. Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
4. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
5. Load and unload goods
6. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
7. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
8. Pay and receive payments for goods
9. Perform emergency roadside repairs
10. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
11. Perform preventive maintenance
12. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
13. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
14. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Credentials

• AZ class license
• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
• Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and Specialization

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer
Communication Systems Experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Transportation/Travel Experience: Local

Security and Safety

• Driver’s validity licence check
• Driving record check (abstract)
