Qualifications

  • Basic working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, milling, lathe, or welding equipment preferred.
  • Experience with lighting, grip, and rental operations.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills required.

About the Position
The Technician will inspect, test, maintain, repair, manufacture and modify equipment in a timely manner following department quality control and safety standards. The Technician will also provide technical support to MBSE Canada staff and customers and collectively build MBSE Canada as the supplier of choice.

Regular business hours, weekdays 8:00am until 5:00pm, located out of our Eastlake location.

How you’ll contribute

  • Liaison between department, customers, and staff.
  • Supporting the department with administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and repair equipment as required. Equipment maintenance may include performing software upgrades.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in a safe manner and according to legislated requirements (e.g., CSA requirements).
  • Ensure equipment is of the highest possible quality, is safeguarded and returned to inventory in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records in our inventory management system and provide input to repair/service quotes as required.
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of new potential specialty equipment for adoption into inventory as required.
  • Identify parts requirements and recommend purchase requirements.
  • Provide technical support and training to MBSE Canada staff and customers as required.
  • Pick, ship, and receive rental equipment as required.
  • Carry out all other reasonable duties as assigned by the company.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Basic working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, milling, lathe, or welding equipment. Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Some experience with rental operation and technical knowledge of lighting, grip, and cable equipment.
  • On-set experience an asset.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with staff and customers.
  • Experience with hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Good problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and WHMIS.
  • Ability to work within the elements
  • Class 5, 3 (with air brakes) license preferred but not required
